Fostering AI-Fuelled Technologies to Fuse and Analyse Sensorial Knowledge for Causal Civilian Situational Awareness and Decision-Making

CYGNUS will develop a bouquet of big data and AI services integrated in a self-managing software platform putting the human-in-the-loop in order to:

  • Sense, harvest, harmonise and aggregate huge amounts of sensorial data from distributed IoT devices (e.g., cameras, accelerometers, geomagnetic field / proximity sensors, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and terrestrial drones).
  • Train federated and centralized AI models capable to automatically detect and identify the presence of significative entities, as well as behavioural patterns including normal and abnormal classification with spatiotemporal and contextual criteria and their correlations.
  • Reduce the analysis load performed by human operators via scalable big data processing modalities and Explainable AI (XAI) for justified decision making.

In the CYGNUS project, ACCELIGENCE plays a key role by leading the integration and demonstration activities. It enhances CERBERUS and F1-TETHERED UAVs with advanced edge capabilities to support AI algorithms for hotspot and people detection. ACCELIGENCE is also responsible for testing, validating, and showcasing the CYGNUS platform in real-world scenarios, ensuring its operational reliability, robustness, and overall performance.

Post-Quantum Cryptography As-a-Service for Common Transmission Systems and Infrastructures

PiQASO aspires to provide fully optimized and operational implementations as-a-service for an ensemble of crypto algorithms and protocols, including key encapsulation, digital signatures, (authenticated) key exchange, authorization, identity management, long-term data security, multi-party secure computation, providing a fully functional equivalent of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) which is robust against future algorithmic and quantum computing advances but also practical enough to be integrated in CTS and infrastructures without the need of any additional specialist hardware to be installed on the client side, thus, enabling quantum-safe application-layer encryption/ decryption services that can be consumed by any legacy system.

In the PiQASO project, ACCELIGENCE serves as the Use Case Leader, leveraging its expertise and multi-purpose UAV fleet to establish a testbed for collaborative drone operations. The team designs and executes realistic scenarios to validate project outcomes under real-world conditions, addressing challenges such as security, trust, and operational assurance in Drone-to-Drone communication against threats like Man-in-the-Middle attacks and unauthorised manipulation.
